This used General Mfg. Canadian-made jointer is a heavy, rigid and accurate machine. It is made of grey iron casting, well ribbed for rigidity and accurately machined for precision work. A sturdy, well ribbed grey iron casting base, with accurately machined dovetailed ways to receive the tables. It also provides substantial mounting for the cutter-head. Heavy grey iron casting tables are well ribbed for rigidity. Dovetailed to match the base, screws and handwheels. They have gibs for adjustment and for taking up wear. The tables are factory precision ground to ensure accurate alignment. A graduated indicator gives depth of cut. The front table has a rabbeting arm and the rear table has a rabbetting ledge. A one-piece solid steel cutter-head, precision machined and balanced. Made of grey iron and ground accurate, the fence moves the full width of the table and can be tilted from vertical to 45? left or right. The adjustable stop screws with swinging stop gives quick and accurate setting of the fence at 45?, 90? and 135?. There is also a large graduated scale for intermediate setting. The quick action lock permits fast movement of the fence across the table or the quick setting of the fence to the angle desired. Three HSS knives are held in place by chip breakers and jack screws. A swinging guard is provided which covers the knives for utmost safety.
