This planer is especially designed and built for woodworking plants, cabinet shops, pattern shops, manual training schools and maintenance department of industrial plants. It is an efficient and compact machine and a throughly rigid surfacer which will give the highest quality of smooth and accurate planing. Made of a heavy box type casting, well ribbed for strength and rigidity. All feed mechanism is enclosed within the machine frame and easily accessible. Large flat vertical ways provide more than adequate support for the table and supplement the table elevating screws located on a heavy mid-way between the vertical ways. The bed is heavily ribbed one-piece casting with an accurate surface and is provided with guides at each side to ensure straight feeding of short stock. It is raised or lowered by two elevating screws resting on ball thrust bearings for minimum friction on the seats by means of helical gears and handwheel. The bed feed rolls are adjustable simultaneously by the conveniently placed hand knob at the front of the table. The ideal setting of the rolls can be made in a matter of seconds to suit different kinds of material. The feed rolls are 4″ in diameter and have coiled springs that apply the required pressure on the top rolls. All feed rolls are power driven. The infeed roll is grooved, the bed rolls and upper outfeed roll is smooth. The chipbreaker is sectional and made of 2″ steel toes, each is loaded with helical springs.
