Used Canadian-made General Mfg. 15″ Bandsaw! The entire machine, fame, wheels, guard and table is made of heavy seasoned gray iron castings. The frame is a piece of heavy gray iron of hollow cast construction. There is no substitute in machine construction for large, heavy casting in order to give rigidity, accuracy and vibration free performance. Heavy cast iron wheels perfectly balanced for smooth operation. They are rimmed to make tire removal easy, by eliminating the use of cement. Each wheel is mounted on sealed-for-life ball bearings. The upper wheel mounting is very important in a bandsaw. The mounting unit consists of a sturdy gray iron box frame casting as a base, not a die casting, with dovetailed ways for accuracy and long life. Two sealed-for-life ball bearings, shock spring, and adjusting handknobs make it a fine, strong and durable mechanism. The cast iron table is a heavily ribbed, carefully machined, and ground smooth to an accurate surface. It is mounted on an oversize machined gray iron trunnion. It can be tilted to 45″ right and 10″ left. An insert in the table protects the saw blade. A 3/8″ x 3/4″ accurately milled will accommodate a miter gauge. The wheels guard is a one piece casting hinged to swing open and to fasten shut with two handknobs. The guard can be quickly opened to change blades. All adjustments to the guides are made independent of one another, with ease and accuracy. The upper and lower thrust guides consists of ball bearings. The upper and lower blocks are adjustable for wear and for width of blades. The steel stand includes a dust chute to carry the dust away from the motor.
