The Beaver Canadian-made 18″ scroll saw provides the hobbyist and craftsman with a complete, ready-to-operate machine with the fine engineering principles, quality workmanship and finish common to all BEAVER woodworking tools. A universal motor has been incorporated in the design along with a switch, cord, plug and light (bulb not included). The base and over-arm are cast-iron construction, enclosing the motor, gear-box housing, air pump and electric wiring. Mounting holes are provided in the base for bolting to a bench. The table is of ribbed, cast iron construction with a ground top surface. It is double trunnion mounted and will tilt 45° either way. The universal chuck allows use of all standard 6″ blades. Long work can be cut by turning the chucks 90°. The upper guide is fully adjustable and is comprised of a blade backing roller and spring hold down. An adjustable blade backing bar is located on the underside. The drive-box mechanism is sealed in an oil bath and is directly connected to the motor by means of the gear and pinion.
